Darcie Dennigan’s libretto is an elliptical depiction of a homeless writer, personified by two singers… An ungodly opera needs ugly music, singers who produce primal sounds, an electric guitar that sounds scraped raw, a [sic] wailing orchestral effects, cuts the ear like a knife. 12.09.14: Hunger has been selected for The Industry‘s Los Angeles “FIRST TAKE” West Coast Workshop for New Operas with wild Up. A public performance of Part III will take place on February 21, 2015 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Beverly Hills, CA in the 400-seat Goldsmith Theater.

12.09.14: the [Switch~ Ensemble] has been selected to present Part III of Hunger on the MATA Interval 8 Series in New York City, May 2015 alongside works of Wojtek Blecharz, Chris Chandler, Stylianos Dimou, Stefan Prins, and Zach Sheets in a concert of New Works for Ensemble & Multimedia curated by artistic director Jason Thorpe Buchanan.
